Which routes can you drive?

You can choose from several routes, including:

The Groninger Borgenroute (101.5 km)
A journey past grand manor houses, picturesque mound villages and the wide clay landscape of Het Hogeland. From the Abbey of Aduard to Borg Verhildersum, past the smallest tidal harbour in the Netherlands at Noordpolderzijl, and back via the Menkemaborg in Uithuizen. Five centuries of history in one afternoon.

The Industrial Heritage Route (117 km)
Straight through the industrial history of Northern Netherlands. Past the Wilhelmina Windmill, through UNESCO World Heritage Site Veenhuizen with the National Prison Museum, via the Old Flour Mill in Appelscha and back along the imposing grain warehouses on the Hoge der A in Groningen. A route with a story, in a car that is a piece of history itself.

Prefer to Ride Along? Mother's Day T2 Bus Tour through Het Hogeland for €50

Not everyone wants to drive, and that's perfectly fine. From May onwards, we offer a guided tour every Wednesday afternoon through Het Hogeland in our Volkswagen T2 Bus. The perfect way to explore the Groningen countryside together with your mum (or as a mum with your children).

What can you expect?

• A relaxed afternoon tour from 13:00 to 17:30
• Riding in an iconic Volkswagen T2 Bus
